Marilyn K. Hines

Mar 10, 1943 — Nov 2, 2025

Rochester, MN

Marilyn (Nagle) Hines of Rochester, MN, died on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Lansing, KS.

Marilyn was born on March 10, 1943 in Faribault, MN to Clement and Marguerite (Hayes) Nagle. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School in Faribault before moving to Minneapolis, MN, Ankeny IA, and then Rochester, MN where she raised her three children and lived most of her life. In 1981 at the age of 38, and not entirely sure she could do it, Marilyn enrolled in college so that she could create a better life for herself and her kids. In 1986 she graduated from Winona State University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. During her career she worked at Olmsted County and Mayo Clinic in Rochester in various technical roles until her retirement in 2008. Marilyn will be remembered for her fierce dedication to and protection of her children and grandchildren, the tenacity she showed in the face of hardship, and her love of a (mostly) friendly game of cards.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Michelle Hoffman, and sons Michael Hines (Amie) and Mark Hines (Elli Rader), eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Nagle, and son-in-law Jay Hoffman.

A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault. Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. followed by a service at 1:30 p.m. and burial at Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.
