Marilyn J. Magnussen

Marilyn J. Magnussen, age 93, of Faribault, MN, and formerly of Council Bluffs, IA, passed away March 4, 2026, at Mill City Senior Living in Faribault.

Marilyn Jean, the daughter of Otto and Ruby (Townsend) Longmeyer, was born on July 11, 1932, in Beebeetown, Iowa. She graduated from Underwood High School in Underwood, IA, then moved to Council Bluffs. Marilyn worked as an office clerk for 44 years with Union Pacific Railroad, in Omaha, NE. In 2018, she moved to Faribault to be closer to her daughter. Marilyn enjoyed solitude, watching TV, and reading books, with the John Grisham series being her latest.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Robillard (Greg); niece, Marta Kirchner (Keith); grandsons, Brent Armstrong, Thomas Robillard, and Lucas Robillard; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ruby; daughter, Linda Mulholland; son, Randy Magnussen; grandson, Jason Mulholland; sister, Mona; and brother, Stanley.

Private family services were held. Interment will be at the Garner Township Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
