Mary Jo Miller, age 86 of Faribault, MN passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 at The Emeralds of Faribault following an extended illness.
Mary Jo, the daughter of Harry and Joanna (Langeslag) Valentyn was born on September 13, 1939 in Faribault, MN. Mary Jo attended St. Lawrence School and then graduated from Montgomery High School. On November 26, 1969 she was united in marriage to Robert “Red” Miller in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. Red preceded her in death on August 17, 1999. Mary Jo worked various jobs over the years from being in property management and a Relator, to being a salesperson for Watkins. Mary Jo had a very strong faith and for many years was active at Divine Mercy Catholic Church on different committee’s and groups. She enjoyed going to garage sales, gardening, cooking and baking especially holiday baking. She enjoyed their trips up north hunting and fishing and was always good to her nieces and nephews.
Mary Jo is survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 30 years, Robert L. “Red” Miller, twin babies, Harry and Lucille Miller, sister, Theodora “Toots” Wandrey and brothers, Lambert (Marylee), Clarence (Ruth), Dennis (Maggie) and Francis (Marlene) Valentyn and other relatives.
Special thank you for all the love, help and just being there, I wouldn’t have been able to make it without all of you.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault with Fr. Alex Marquette officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.
Memorial visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
