Mary Lacanne

Mary Ann LaCanne, age 61, of Faribault, MN, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church. A prayer service and time for sharing will be held on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Ann was born on December 28, 1955 in Faribault to Joseph and Delores (Blais) LaCanne. Mary Ann worked at the Developmental Activity Center (DAC) for 27 years and she lived at the Unity Group Home for 15 years, many thanks to each for their care. Also, many thanks to Allina Home Health Hospice staff who tended to her these last months. Mary Ann lived a full life giving joy, laughter and love to all she met. With her special needs, she touched many hearts and understood life's greatest gift is to love each other. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her siblings, Mark (Therese) LaCanne of Maple Grove, Albert (Kathy) LaCanne of Tempe, AZ, Susan (Bruce) Burkhartzmeyer of Faribault, Fr. Steve LaCanne of Minneapolis, Sr. Elaine LaCanne, OP of Minneapolis, Mary Catherine Stevermer of Blue Earth, MN, Rita Schimek (Mike Yonkovich) of Mankato, Joseph A. (Barbara) LaCanne of Windom, and Dianna Lindenfelser (Francis DuBois) of Mesa, AZ; special aunt and uncle, Teresa and Bob Ballentine of Northfield; sister-in-law, Eileen LaCanne of Rochester; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Delores; brother, Michael LaCanne; brothers-in-law, John Lindenfelser, Bill Stevermer, and Joseph Schimek.
