Maxine M. LeMieux

Maxine Mary (Caron) LeMieux, age 100, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Faribault Medical Center.

Maxine Mary was born on October 20, 1923, in Faribault to Joseph and Mary (LeMay) Caron. She was united in marriage to Joseph Alec LeMieux on May 14, 1941 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault, MN.  In her early years, Maxine worked at Ochs Department Store in the stationary department.   Maxine enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, and working in her garden, especially with her flowers.  She loved to can tomatoes. 

Maxine and Joe enjoyed 47 years of square dancing, taking them around many states in the U.S. and Mexico. They also enjoyed camping in the summer and spent 25 years wintering in Pharr, Texas. 

Maxine is survived by her children, Karen (Ron) Erickson of Sister Bay, WI; Kevin (Tamara) of Watertown, SD; and Keith (Deanne) of Faribault; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Steven, Sarah, Alec, Yvonne, Ciera, and Bo; five great-grandchildren, Aiden, Sarosh, AshaLynne, Armaiti, and Ameretat; and many other relatives and friends. 

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 2013; her parents, Mary and Joseph; her brothers, Laurence, Edward, Delbert, Gilbert, and her sisters, Madeline, and infant sister.

We would like to sincerely thank the staff at Mill City Senior Living and nurses at Faribault Medical Center, who were so kind and caring with Maxine. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the funeral at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. 

Memorials may be given to Divine Mercy Catholic Church, as Maxine and Joe were very devoted to their church.
