Maynard D. Pitan

Maynard D. Pitan, age 91, of Faribault, MN, passed away April 4, 2026, at the Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague, MN.

Maynard Delbert, the son of William and Emma (Radel) Pitan, was born on July 26, 1934, in Medford, MN. He graduated from Medford High School and later served in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1957. Maynard was united in marriage to Idamae Karels on August 20, 1960, in Faribault. He worked for B.H. Heselton Construction as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years. Maynard enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ida Pitan; children, Penny Hora (Joe), Randy Pitan (Laura), and Joleen Conrad (Michael); daughter-in-law, Diane Pitan; grandchildren: Madison, Elizabeth, and John; Jack and Ryan; Alexa; Kalie, William, Collin, Amelia, Hayden, and Celia; Heather (Phil), and Adam (Nina); great grandchildren, Maverick, Tyler, Mason, Brie, Sawyer, and Ruby Jo; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Cary Pitan, and Sanford “Sandy” Pitan; parents, William and Emma; and siblings, Delbert Pitan, Melvin Pitan, Viola Schuster, and Elayne Blazick.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
