Oliver "Michael" Gibson, age 75 of Faribault, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Oliver Michael was born on March 14, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, to Oliver and Hattie (Coldwell) Gibson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 - 1963. Mike was married to Theresa Balock in 1966 and she preceded him in death in 2003. He operated his own lawn maintenance service for 17 years in Missouri. Mike moved to Minnesota in 2004 and was married to Lucille Lewis. He worked for the Faribault Daily News as a carrier for eight years. Mike enjoyed playing bingo, watching TV, playing on computers, fishing, and playing with his cats and dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Gibson of Faribault; son, Dan (Patricia Kay) Gibson of Union, MO; granddaughter, Angel Harris and sons, grandson, James Harris, granddaughter, Kelly (Brian) Venterreiner, and granddaughter, Danielle (Chris) Richardson & family, all of Missouri; Stepson, Greg (Megan) Brooks and family of Stewartville, MN, adopted goddaughters, Annette (Paul) Armstrong, and Angie (Melvin) Kanzenbach; friends, Jerry and Jean Bignell & family, and Kenneth Bultman, all of Faribault; dogs, Princess and Bear, and cats, Max and Morris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; parents, Oliver and Hattie; and daughter, Diane Harris.
