Peter "Pete" Lynn Brinkman

September 30, 1963 — November 22, 2025

Faribault

Pete Brinkman died at his home on November 22, 2025, as the result of a stroke. He was born on September 30, 1963, in Jackson, Minnesota, to Duane H. “Spark” Brinkman and Donna J. Brinkman (Oelkers).

The oldest of three very individual brothers, Pete distinguished himself early as the brother who could fix anything. At just five years old, when asked what he wanted for Christmas, he requested the desire of his heart: a real workbench complete with a working saw and hammer. That early passion for building and repair never left him. As an adult, Pete became the owner of numerous properties in the Faribault area. He was well known for dropping everything to personally respond to maintenance needs and for treating his tenants fairly, with respect and integrity.

Pete graduated from Blue Earth High School and later joined the Navy. He was honorably discharged and worked for a short time for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. A lover of the outdoors, Pete found joy in nature and especially enjoyed watching the wild turkeys that frequented his backyard.

Pete had two sons, Duane Robert Brinkman and Blake Arthur Brinkman, with his former spouse Brenda Lee Snyder. He had a third son, Hunter Sage Brinkman, with former partner Jese Rene Stam.

Pete is survived by his parents, Donna and Spark Brinkman; his sons, Duane (Jamie Linnemon) Brinkman and their son Mason; Blake Brinkman; and Hunter (Cierra) Brinkman and their children Coraline, Holly, Judah, Peter, and Ignatius. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike (Delana) Brinkman and Tim (Christine) Brinkman; nieces and nephews Ben Brinkman, Kate (Armando) Corona, Anthony (Christine) Weaver, Katie (Chris) Pinkert, Germaine Nielsen, Max Brinkman, and Will Brinkman; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Gideon Amorth Brinkman and grandparents Robert and Delores (Torman) Oelkers and Herman and Alma (Bischoff) Brinkman

A Warm Memories Gathering is tentatively scheduled for May 2026 at the resort that he owned.
