Ralph C. Barney

Ralph C. Barney, 65, of Morristown, MN, passed away June 21, 2026, following an extended illness.

Ralph Clay, was born on March 16, 1961, in San Francisco, CA. He was adopted and raised by Ralph D. and Carrie (Stroud) Barney. Ralph was very educated, receiving a master’s degree and later served in the U.S. Army Intelligence Department. He had a lengthy career as a master welder, owning and operating his own business in Faribault, MN. He and Kristen Tisdale were united in marriage on November 21, 2006. Ralph was formerly active in the Rice County BPOU, was a former city councilman for the city of Morristown and enjoyed politics and motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Kristen Barney; children, Janet, and Ralph Lawrence Jr.; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Carrie; and sister, Joanie Smith.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Morristown, MN.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 902 17th St. SW, Faribault.
