Richard Allen Brohmer

Richard Allen Brohmer, age 75, passed away on August 29, 2026, at The Estates at St. Louis Park, in St. Louis Park, MN.

Graveside services will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault, MN. The date and time for the burial will be updated on the website as soon as it is confirmed.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.

Richard was born on November 10, 1950, in Amery, WI. He was the oldest of six children born to Richard and Verva Brohmer. The family moved to Mountain Lake, MN in 1961 and Richard graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1969. Following graduation, he attended Jackson Vocational Technical Institute in Jackson, MN, where he studied machine shop and related mechanical trade classes.

Richard lived in the Warsaw/Faribault, MN, area where he worked as a machinist for Crown, Cork & Seal and eventually retired from McQuay International (now Daikin Applied). Richard also kept busy with his own tree service business that he operated for many years.

Richard was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Faribault.

Richard is survived by his long-time companion, partner, and friend of 30 years, Cheryl Ackmann; his three children, Jerad (Paula) Brohmer, Michelle (Mike) Karnes, and Joel Brohmer; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; siblings, Ron (Mary) Brohmer, Gary (Jane) Brohmer, Jim Brohmer, and Linda Brohmer.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Verva Brohmer; sister, Laua (Brohmer) Gaalswyk; niece and nephews, Angela, Jesse, and Jeremiah; grandchild, Keith; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
