Richard E. Moravec, age 84 of Faribault, MN passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Emeralds of Faribault.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. The service will also be live-streamed through a link found on Richard’s obituary page at www.parkerkohlfuneralhome.com.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to Allina Hospice.
Richard Emil, the son of Emil and Sylvia (Krocak) Moravec, was born on July 19, 1936 in Montgomery, MN. Richard grew up in Montgomery and farmed near Lonsdale. He was united in marriage to Veta Drinken on June 19, 1959 in Iowa. He retired after 31 years of working for the City of Faribault. Following retirement and while he was not working, Richard enjoyed gardening, especially vegetables, fishing trips, Minnesota Vikings games, old time music and dances, especially polka because he was a great polka dancer, and Euchre club. Family was the most important to him and he lit up when he saw his great grandchildren. He also enjoyed his time with his cat, Kitty.
Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Veta; children, Judi Moravec (John Oswald) of Breezy Point, MN, Julia (Lonny) Andersen of Owatonna, and Joe Moravec of Faribault; son-in-law, Tim Hunt of Kilkenny; grandchildren, Justin (Maggie) Hunt, Ashley (Chris) Tonjum, Lynn Parker (Joel Chambers), Leslie (Mike) Mayhew, Nichole Moravec, and Jason (Janelle) Ianfolla; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hunt, Lauren Hunt, Liam Mayhew, Jameson Tonjum, Isla Mayhew, Maren Tonjum, Jaclyn Ianfolla, and Tony Ianfolla; sister, Darlene (Gary) Buss of West Minster, CO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jan Hunt; grandson, Nicholas Moravec; and sisters, Irene Shimota and Inez Horejsi.
