Roger D. Tungland

Roger D. Tungland, age 73 of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Milestone Senior Living in Faribault.

Roger Dale, the son of Thor and Jeanette (Nelson) Tungland, was born on November 27, 1952 in Windom, MN. Roger grew up in Fairmont and moved to Kenyon as a teen and attended Kenyon High School. Roger enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from High school at Camp Pendleton.

Roger is survived by his daughters, Kelly Tungland and Cristi (Chuck) Warnemunde; grandchildren, Derek (Sarah Cain) Drees, Esmie Drees, Kara Drees (Cole Nowicki), Nathan Warnemunde, and Ali Warnemunde; sister-in-law, Mary Tungland; niece and nephews, Eric, Shaun, Nikki, Nathan, Troy, and Travis; other relatives and friends.

Roger was a truck driver until injury kept him from driving. He drove for various companies and also as an owner operator. He would tell you a Peterbilt is a far superior truck. He loved his family and always kept in touch to visit and see how everyone was doing. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and the staff at Milestone. You never knew what story Roger was going to tell you next.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry “Whitey” Tungland and Gary Tungland; and sister, Mavis Tungland.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, Faribault. Celebration of Life will continue from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Loyal Order of Moose 2098 in Faribault. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling with military honors.
