Sheila Doherty

Sheila (Hunt) Doherty, age 63 of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday for one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or Owatonna Hospice in memory of Sheila.

Sheila Rae, the daughter of Eugene and Esther (Slavik) Hunt, was born on October 15, 1954 in Faribault, MN. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1973. Following high school Sheila attended Faribault Vocational Technical College and received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. On September 14, 1974 she was united in marriage to Greg Doherty at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Sheila worked for 30 years as an LPN for Dr. David Beckmann at the Faribault Clinic and later Mayo Health System. Sheila enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, casino hopping, especially in Las Vegas and watching Reality TV.

She is survived by her husband Greg Doherty of Faribault; by two daughters, Kelly Doherty Blohm (Jim Bauer) of Faribault and RaeAnn (Paul) Vizina of Kenyon, MN; by seven grandchildren, Sam, Molly and Charles Blohm, Padraig and Mia Vizina and Joey and Maija Bauer; by her mother, Esther Hunt (Wayne) Winjum of Faribault; by four brothers, Pat (Carla) Hunt, Daniel (Rose) Hunt, Timothy Hunt, all of Faribault and Christopher Hunt (Justine Krech) of Oak Park Heights, MN; by two sisters, Colleen (Dan) Caron of Faribault and Mary Hunt (Randy Christey) of Owatonna, MN; by sister and brother-in-laws, Kathy Hunt, Wayne (Patty) Doherty, Michael (Eileen) Doherty, Janet (Jim) Kittelson, Judy Doherty, Brian Doherty and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Hunt, her brother, Scott Hunt, mother and father-in-law, James and Edith Doherty, sister-in-law, Jan (Moravec) Hunt and brother-in-law, Jim Doherty.
