Stuart “Stu” Spicer, age 70 of Faribault, MN passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following a sudden illness.

Stuart Allen, the son of Frank and Evelyn (Peters) Spicer was born on September 14, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN.  He attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1971.  Following high school Stu attended Inver Grove Heights Community College and later transferred to Winona State University.  In 1975 he was united in marriage to Pamela Nelson.  They would later divorce.  Stu worked for many years in the Shipping and Receiving Department at the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf.  He also worked construction part time with his good friend Jerry Esenrich.  Stu was an avid baseball and softball player and was on different teams for many years.  He also coached his kids when they were playing for the Faribault Lakers Baseball Team or the Faribault Girls Traveling Basketball Team.  He took great enjoyment in watching his kids compete with their teams and never missed any of their games.  He had a deep love for his family, especially his children, grandchildren and siblings.  Stu enjoyed working on house projects, going on motorcycle rides, hunting, fishing, throwing horseshoes and playing darts.

He is survived by his children, Ross Spicer of Lonsdale, MN, Kassy (Erik) Nielsen of Owatonna, MN, Allison Spicer and Brian Fausnaugh of Mason City, IA and Greg (Samantha) Spicer of Mankato, MN; by seven grandchildren; by his siblings Janice Sederholm of Coon Rapids, MN, Deanna Kimbrough of Hudson, FL, Joan (Gary) Sanford of Oronoco, MN, Steven Spicer of Faribault, MN and Denese (Michel) Bremer of Faribault, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, his brother, Sterling Spicer and by two brothers-in-law, Robert Kimbrough and Ronald Sederholm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with Fr. Henry Doyle, officiating.  Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to services.
