Thomas J. Reuvers, age 88, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at his home following an extended illness.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Private interment with military honors will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.
Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Thomas Jacob, the son of Adrian and Mary (Gillen) Reuvers, was born on December 20, 1931 in Faribault. He graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School with the class of 1949. Tom helped run the family farm after his father passed, served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, and was employed by Voegel’s Creamery. He was united in marriage to Betty Michel on July 13, 1957 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. For 46 years, the couple farmed in Wells Township, Rice County. He dedicated himself as a 4-H leader and was active on the Rice County Shipping Association Board, Northrup King Advisory Board and in the local school district. He was a member of the Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus, Faribault Eagles Aerie 1460, and the American Legion Post 43. Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished farming with his two brothers. He spent many years attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, and also enjoyed the Rose Bowl and Arizona State basketball games. Tom loved playing Euchre and cheering for the Minnesota Gophers, Twins and Vikings. He played golf as much as possible in his retirement, even sinking a hole-in-one at Augusta Ranch in Mesa, AZ.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty Reuvers of Faribault; children, Michael (Cindi) Reuvers of Fountain Hills, AZ, Joanne Reuvers of Rochester, Janelle (Joel) Ross of Lonsdale, Jean Reuvers of Elysian, and Julie Reuvers of St. Paul; ten grandchildren, Jake (Laura) Reuvers, Jenna Ross, Justine (Jeffrey) Peterzen, Alexandra Reuvers, Jay (Isabella) Ross, Noë and Brooks Christensen, Natalea, Naomi and Neal Goff; four great grandchildren, Carter Reuvers, Natalie Avalos, Paisley and Addison Ross; brother, James Reuvers of Dundas; brothers-in-law Don (Jeanne) Michel, Richard Michel, Howard Dokken; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Mary; sisters, Joanne Reuvers, Sister Adriane Reuvers, O.S.B; brother, Lawrence Reuvers; father- and mother-in-law Gordon and Vivian Michel, and sisters-in-law, Beverly Reuvers, SuzAnne Reuvers and Winnie Dokken.
