Todd Finneseth

Todd E. “Finn” Finneseth, age 58 of Faribault, MN passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN following a sudden illness.

Todd Earl, the son of Ted and Lois (Viger) Finneseth was born on June 22, 1964 in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota.  He attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1982.  Following high school Todd attended Dakota County Vo-Tech for Auto Mechanics.  He worked for a short time at Firestone in Apple Valley and for the last 32 years has worked at Malto-O-Meal/Post in Northfield, MN.  On September 14, 2002 he was united in marriage to Gayle Bauer at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Wheeling Township.  Growing up Todd enjoyed camping and fishing with his dad and brother.  He also enjoyed trips to Munich, ND to visit his aunts and uncles.  He collected John Deere lawn tractors and enjoyed building and flying remote control planes.  He loved to be outdoors and especially having a bonfire with family and friends while listening to Johnny Cash.  He was very proud of his Norwegian heritage.  For the past 18 years they hosted the Annual Finnfest Celebration in September at their farm that included a tractor parade, tractor pull and other activities.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Finneseth of Faribault, by their pup, June; by his step-mother, Marilyn Finneseth of Northfield; by his half-sibling, Barb Layton and her daughter, Jessica of California; by his step-siblings, Scott (Lisa) Engen, Pete Engen, Diane (Jim) Frederick, Ken (Anne) Engen, Craig (Audumn) Engen, Nancy (Mark) Wallenfang, Addi Johnson and their families; by his father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Karen Bauer of Waterville, MN; by brothers-in-law, Brian Bauer of Faribault, Chad Bauer of Kenyon, MN, and Brent (Kim) Bauer of Waterville; by his sister-in-law, Cathy Bauer of Faribault and their families; by his uncle Robert Finneseth of North Dakota and by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Finneseth, mother, Lois Olson, brother, Jeffrey Finneseth, brother-in-law, Gregg “Bubba” Bauer and nephew-in-law, Logan Kuhn and his faithful companion, Hanna.

A Memorial Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  In honor of Finn this is a casual gathering and the family encourages everyone to wear your favorite John Deere or Johnny Cash apparel in honor of Finnman.
