Victoria A. "Vicki" Akemann

Victoria A. “Vicki” Akemann, age 71 of Faribault, MN passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Victoria Ann, the daughter of Stephen and Bernice (Harriman) Steele was born on November 18, 1953 in Faribault, MN. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1972. Following high school Vicki attended Mankato State University and later the University of Minnesota earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Vicki also served in U.S. Army Reserves for five years. Vicki worked for 50 years at the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind, starting as a Special Education Teacher and was currently serving as a Special Education Program Assistant. On February 14, 1992 she was united in marriage to Jim Akemann in Bloomington, MN. Vicki enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and also enjoyed traveling, reading and her pets.

She is survived by her husband Jim Akemann of Faribault, MN; by her sister, Nina Steele (Vince Stefanski) of Des Moines, IA; by children, Jamie (Katie) Akemann of Ada, MI, Jesse (Stacy) Akemann of Faribault, MN and Jacy (Andy) Morgan of Grand Rapids, MN; by grandchildren, Gabe Akemann (Amber), Grant (Katie) Akemann, Ellery (Egan) Bonde, Will Akemann (Alice), Reilly Akemann, Jada Morgan and Ethan Morgan; by great granddaughter, Lenore Bonde and by other relatives, many friends and co-workers.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
