Allen Lacanne

Allen P. LaCanne, age 67, of Warsaw, MN, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his home following an extended illness.

Allen Paul was born on April 18, 1954, in Faribault, MN, to Marvin and Lucille (Wanous) LaCanne.  He graduated from Morristown High School with the class of 1972.  He was united in marriage to Julie Ann Iverson on April 3, 1976, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault.  Allen first worked at McQuay’s, Nutting Truck & Caster, and CCM of Northfield.  Allen worked as a small engine mechanic his entire career, starting with E&S Repair and J&J Motorsports before becoming a self-employed mechanic.

Allen was very handy and a jack of all trades.  He would fix many things on his parents’ farm, and for family and friends.  He was always generous and kind, helping anyone who needed a hand.  Allen loved taking Julie for rides on his motorcycle, exploring the countryside.  He also enjoyed camping, music, and bonfires with family and friends.  Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, cherishing the role as the caretaker of his family and teaching the grandkids how to do things.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julie LaCanne of Warsaw; his children, Amanda LaCanne of Faribault, Tanya Rezac of Faribault, and Paul LaCanne of Bloomington, MN; grandchildren, Alexis, Samantha, and Cole; siblings, Duane LaCanne (Julia) of Warsaw, Lori LaCanne of Faribault, and Cheryl Stenzel (Kenny) of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lucille.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault.  Interment will be at the Warsaw Cemetery in Warsaw, MN.  The family requests that all visitors for the visitation and funeral to please wear masks.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church.
