Bernard “Benny” Hinderscheid Jr., age 67, of Faribault, MN, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his home.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating.  For those unable to attend, you can view the service through a link on Benny’s obituary page.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. the funeral home.

Bernard Edward was born on January 31, 1953 in New Prague, MN to Bernard A. and Anna (Cemensky) Hinderscheit.  He attended school in the LeSueur/Henderson district.  Benny married Jean Haefs in March of 1981 and moved to Waterville, MN.  They had three children, Candi, Tim and Monica and were later divorced.  Benny enjoyed going fishing, hunting, playing cards and cribbage, having a beer all while joking and teasing with friends and family.  He enjoyed family get togethers and the holidays.  Benny worked at H & S Logging.  He also did commercial fishing and cleaned fish at Wilmes Fish Market.  He sold night crawlers as his side job and was the fastest bullhead cleaner, with 7 fish a minute.

He is survived by his children, Candi (Ryan) Petersen of St. James, MN, Tim (Hannah) Hinderscheid of Waterville, and Monica Hinderscheid of Mankato; grandson, Michael Petersen; siblings, James (Katherine) Hinderscheid of Federal Dam, MN, Donna Carter of Dacona, CO, Leo Hinderscheid of St. Petersburg, FL, Theresa (Gordy) Ferch of Kilkenny, MN, Rita Miller of Kasota, MN, Bernadine (Bob) Mackey of Waseca, MN, Gordon (Dorothy) Hinderscheit of New Prague, MN, Alfred “Fritz” (Pattie) Hinderscheit of Janesville, MN, Rose Rinehart (Roger) of Faribault, and Bill Hinderscheit of New Richland, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard A. and Anna; two siblings in infancy, Connie and Allen Hinderscheit; and many aunts and uncles.
