Craig J. White, age 68, of Faribault, MN, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, following an extended illness.
Craig Joseph, the son of Joseph and Helen (Johnston) White was born on December 30, 1952 in Marion, OH. He attended Arlington High School in Indianapolis, IN and graduated with the class of 1971. As a young boy he grew up in Michigan around the lakes and played Little League Baseball in Coloma, MI. He was also talented musically as a young man and played the coronet and loved to sing. Later his family would move to Indiana. In 1974 Craig moved to Minnesota and began a 26 year career as a clothing salesman at Jerry Leonard’s and later he owned and operated his own store, Olson’s Big and Tall Men’s Clothing in North Minneapolis. He would finish his working career as a mortgage broker with Metro Mortgage. On June 14, 1980 he was united in marriage to Kathryn “Kathy” Parker at First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. They lived most of their life in different parts of Minnesota and also had lived for nine months in Florida. Craig was liked by all and was very kind and unselfish. He loved going out to eat with family and friends and also hosting gatherings at their home. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and even convinced his daughter Cassie, his greatest joy, to become a fan as well. He loved all sports, playing them and watching. He also enjoyed swimming and being on the water as much as he could and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy White of Faribault; by his daughter, Cassie White of Faribault; by his siblings, Carol (James) Gunn of New Palestine, IN and William (Candy) White of Victoria, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his Father and Mother-in-law, John and Mary Parker.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home with Fr. Henry Doyle officiating. For those unable to attend the service will be livestreamed through a link found on Craig’s obituary page.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home.
