Harold Wurster

August 27, 1930 — April 21, 2019

Harold A. Wurster, age 88 of Faribault, MN and formerly of Gold Canyon, AZ, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the Milestone Senior Living Community following an extended illness.

Private family services will be held at a later date.  Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN with military honors.

Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Harold was born August 27, 1930 at home in Powsekiek County, Iowa (near Grinnell) the son of Albert Wurster and Laura D. (Crase) Wurster.  He attended 1 thru 8 rural grade school and graduated from Mankato High school in 1948.  He started working for the Truth Tool Co. in Mankato in 1950 before going into the U.S. Army’s, 746th Engineer Heavy Shop Co. during Korean War 1951-1953.  After being discharged from the army, Harold returned to his previous job at Truth Tool Co., now owned by the Owatonna Tool Co.  Harold married Donna Lea Heaney March 26, 1955 in Mankato.  In 1959 the company was moved back to Owatonna into the old Owatonna Tool factory and the name was changed to Truth Incorporated making quality window crank operators, locks and hinges for the wood and aluminum window manufacturers industry.  In 1969 Truth Inc. built a new manufacturing facility on West Bridge street.  Harold retired in February 1993 as a Sr. Mfg. Engineer after 43 years of service.  Truth Inc. was sold to foreign investors and renamed Truth Hardware.  Later the company was resold and name changed to Amesbury/Truth.  In 1998, Harold and Donna (wife) sold their home in Owatonna and moved to Gold Canyon, Arizona (near Apache Junction & Mesa) to MountainBrook Village near King’s Ranch Road off Hwy. #60 East.  Harold was a member of the American Legion, and a Life member of the Elks National Foundation.  Harold enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, deer hunting, boating, snowmobiling, bowling, road trips, BBQ cooking and computer.

Harold is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons, Thomas A. Wurster and Hope of Medford, MN, David A. Wurster and Lucianne of Owatonna, and one daughter, Pamela J. Rojek and Mark, of Wilsonville (Portland) OR, and seven grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one step-son James M. Heaney, of Blair, NE, and one step-daughter, Colleen M. (Heaney) Page of Pasadena, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Owatonna Foundation, Hospice, or donors choice.
