Kaden Matthew Hart was born on March 1, 1999 in Mora, MN to Connie (Wester) Hart and Michael Hart.  When he was 4 years old Kaden moved with his family to Faribault where he attended school graduating from Faribault High School with the class of 2017.  Kaden was pursuing a degree in Law Enforcement at Bemidji State University and was on the Beaver Men’s Basketball Team.  He was also highly involved with the BSU chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Above all else Kaden knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  He had a strong faith that was growing each day.  Kaden was a kind and compassionate son, friend and teammate.  He loved his family immensely along with his dog, Dex.  The bonds he created with others were deep and long lasting.  He was a caregiver and would bless others with thoughtful gifts or acts of kindness.  He was fun-loving and consistently had a quick witted, often sarcastic, comeback accompanied by a smirking grin.  Although he was a goofball, his love ran deep as did his loyalty and honesty.  In death, as in life, Kade was a giver saving five lives by donating his major organs and benefitting dozens more with his tissues through the organization LifeSource.  Often to the chagrin of others Kade caught on to most things quickly and would dominate any game or activity whether it was a sport, card game, videogame or even things like fishing and handyman skills.  His natural ability and intelligence helped him excel during his high school and college career.

At Faribault High School Kaden played on the varsity football team beginning in 10th grade and as one of the team’s quarterbacks helped lead the team to the state tournament in 2014.  He was a team captain and All-District his junior and senior year.  A football highlight is when he threw an 85-yard touchdown pass to his brother, Kallan, known as the Hart to Hart connection.

Kaden loved football, but he dominated on the basketball court.  His 6’9” frame and awareness of the court led him to varsity play as a freshman and scoring 1,000 points throughout his high school career.  He was team captain and three-time All-Conference player.  He and the team of 2016-17 brought a newfound level of excitement in Faribault high school basketball.

Kade also spent his springs and summers playing AAU basketball and traveling throughout the state and country for games and tournaments.  This in turn, led him to a scholarship offer from Bemidji State University where he was currently a part of the men’s basketball program.  Kaden was studying to become a police officer and investigator and was looking forward to making a positive change in the world of law enforcement.

Kaden’s hobbies included playing videogames, snowboarding, water sports, and playing bass guitar with his yet-to-be-discovered band Nimrod Sebeka.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with friends developing a large close-knit group.

He is survived by his mother, Connie (Wester) Hart; father, Michael Hart;  brother, Kallan Hart of Brookings, SD;  sister, Maryn Hart; maternal grandmother, Ann Wester of Redwood Falls, MN;  paternal grandmother, Andre Floen  (Dale) of Silver Bay, MN and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sidney Hart; maternal grandfather, William “Bill” Wester; and uncle, Gerald Hart.

Our loss is great, but God is greater.
