Lester Poe

Lester D. Poe, age 72 of Montgomery, MN died on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN following an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Lester Dean, the son of Dean and Luella Poe was born on October 17, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN.  He attended Cannon Falls High School and graduated with the class of 1967.  After high school he served in the U.S. Air Force.  Les worked different jobs over the years and for most of his career was in sales for phone systems.

He is survived by his children, Nicole (Chris) Broden of Faribault, MN, Greg (Tanecka) Poe of Owatonna, MN, Heather (Ryan) Malloy of Nevada and Phillip Poe of Kentucky; by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; by his mother, Luella “Janey” Poe of Northfield, MN; by his siblings, Linda (Larry) Archie of Florida, Laurie Luke of Nevada, Lyle (Cheri) O’Bannon and Rolla Jane Boersma of Dennison, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Maurice Nelson, Gwendolyn Poe, Larry O’Bannon and Leatrice Poe
