Loretta Kaderlik

Loretta J. Kaderlik, age 80, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home following an extended illness.

Loretta Joann was born on September 3, 1940 in Mankato, MN to Theodore and Agnes (Noy) Vierboom.  She graduated from Good Thunder High School with the class of 1958 and Mankato State University in 1965 with degrees in Sociology and Business Administration.  She was united in marriage to Gerald Kaderlik on April 24, 1965 in Shieldsville, MN.  Loretta worked as a Social Worker at the Faribault Regional Center from 1967-1998.  She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Loretta loved to read, shop, and spend time with her family and friends.  Most of all, she was a caring wife, loving mother, and adoring Nana.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Kaderlik of Faribault; daughters, Kelly (Tom) McDonald of Mankato, and Shawn (Jason) Swearingen of St. Paul; grandson, Eli Swearingen; brother, Bill (Wanda) Alleven of Mankato; sister-in-law, Betty Alleven of Mapleton, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Agnes; brothers, Hank, Joe, and Frank Alleven; and sisters, Mary Honetschlager and Sophie Honetschlager.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Sr. Kathleen Hayes, officiating.  Private family interment will be at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Shieldsville.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, Homestead Hospice House of Owatonna, or the donor’s choice in memory of Loretta.
