Renae Dishman-Ronayne

January 22, 1962 — July 8, 2019

Renae Michelle Dishman-Ronayne, age 57, of Faribault, MN, passed away Monday July 8, 2019, at her home following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1207 Prairie Ave. SW, Faribault.  Private family interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, and on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Renae Michelle was born on January 22, 1962 in Independence, Kansas to Darral and Marilyn (Haugen) Dishman.  She graduated from Memorial High School in Joplin, Missouri with the class of 1980.  Renae graduated from St. Olaf College in 1984 with a Degree in Psychology and received her Teaching Degree from the University of Minnesota.  She furthered her education receiving her Masters Degree in Education at the University of St. Thomas.  She was united in marriage to Terrance Ronayne on August 10, 1990 in Little Falls, MN.  Renae was a teacher in the Little Falls Public School District from 1987 – 2000.  They moved to Faribault and she was a dedicated homemaker and mother for her children, and a creative writer.

The word artist often describes the work done by painters and the like. Although she excels as a literal artist, our mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend, personifies the word in describing her Life’s work – her children Conor, Cailie, and Keenan. With a selfless, loving, and empathetic heart, Renae impacts many. Her broad impact is measured in how she makes people feel - both about themselves and the ones they love - in her presence. Her strong, deep soul and foundation in faith illustrates a Godliness more profound than a practice of religion may encapsulate, and a holiness that is all encompassing. Renae is a lover of all life, including the bees, ladybugs, and mosquitos, that most of us may think lesser. She is a model of joy through a love of laughter (especially giggles at church), and an endless wit that keeps us honest and on our toes.

She is survived by her husband, Terrance Ronayne; children, Conor, Cailie, and Keenan; mother, Marilyn Dishman-Horst (Fred Horst), brothers, Randy (LaShelle) Dishman, and Darren (Linda) Dishman; sister, Deneen (David) Dygert; step sister, Kathleen (Ken) Rutter; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Darral Dishman; her nanny, Janice Haugen, and her other grandparents.

Memorials may be directed to the River Bend Nature Center in memory of Renae.
