Richard J. “Dick“ Dusbabek, age 84 of Faribault, MN passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, MN following a sudden illness.

Due to the current CDC recommendations the family has chosen to postpone Dick’s service until a later date.  An updated obituary with the date of the memorial will appear at a later date.

Richard James, the son Walter and Ruth (Harger) Dusbabek was born on January 4, 1936 in Faribault.  He attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1954.  On Nov. 11, 1968 He was united in marriage to Loretta Timmers.  Loretta preceded him in death on May 29, 2016.  Dick worked for many years as a custodian at Faribault Public Schools and also was a custodian at the Bowling Center and later Basher’s.  He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, going for walks, playing cards and bingo, which he did three times a week.  He loved watching the Twins, Wild, Vikings and having coffee with friends every morning.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 889 and the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Faribault.

He is survived by his daughter, Connie (Jason) Kliewer-Dusbabek of Faribault; by two sons, John (Debbie) Timmers of Faribault and Joe (Renee) Timmers of St. Paul, MN; by his brother, Edward Dusbabek of Faribault; by two sisters, Carol (Charles) Beaupre of Isle, MN and Shirley Cagle of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers, Ronald, Alfred, Robert, Charles and Dennis Dusbabek and by three sisters, Betty Lindeman, Donna Daniels and Kathryn Francis.
