Roger G. Pumper, age 77 of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at New Perspectives Senior Living in Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville (7525 Dodd Road, Faribault), with Fr. Tom Niehaus, pastor, officiating.  Interment will be held at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Shieldsville, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held at the Church of St. Patrick on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services.

Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Academy or Church of St. Patrick in memory of Roger.

Roger George was born on November 30, 1942 in Faribault to George W. and Frances (Timmers) Pumper.  He graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School with the class of 1960.  Following high school, Roger attended a technical college for Drafting.  Roger served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1961- 1968.  He was married to Colleen Brazil on June 13, 1970 at the Church of St. Patrick.  Roger had a 40-year career as a draftsman working in Bloomington, MN.  He later worked as a custodian at Divine Mercy Church for eight years and St. Patrick’s Church in Shieldsville for six years.  Roger was a member and past president of the Faribault Aerie 1460, Fraternal Order of Eagles. He also was involved with the Faribault Hockey Association as a board member and president.  Roger spent many years attending his children’s hockey games.  He also taught religion at St. Patrick’s Church with their confirmation classes.  Roger enjoyed playing cards, listening to Twins games and was a good dancer.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Pumper of Faribault; children, Daniel (Tammy) Pumper, Dennis (Karin) Pumper, and Diane (Eric) Drier, all of Faribault; five grandchildren, Spencer Schwichtenberg, Montana Pumper, Autumn Pumper, Keira Drier, and Elsa Drier; brothers-in-law, Ron Roelke of Burnsville, MN, Ken (Joyce) Brazil and Thomas Brazil (Joyce Gehl), both of Faribault; sister-in-law, Frances Brazil of Bloomington; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Frances; three sisters, Marilyn (Earl) Lambrecht, Donna Roelke, and Barbara “Jean” (Robert) Trump; brother-in-law, Gerald Brazil; and nephew, James Brazil.
