Sharon Meillier

Sharon K. Meillier, age 63 of Faribault, MN passed away to go home with Jesus on October 19, 2020 at the North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN due to an extended illness.

Sharon Katherine, the daughter of Sylvester and Beatrice (Kotek) Thomas, was born on December 6, 1956 in Faribault, MN.  When she was growing up she was shy around people she didn’t know, the quietest of the bunch of 10 children.  She enjoyed playing cards with her brothers and sisters, playing with the animals on the farm and helping with the garden, playing dolls with her sisters, checkers with her Dad and enjoyed her Mom’s potato dumplings with sauerkraut, porkchops and onions.  She graduated from Faribault Senior High School with the class of 1975 while working at McDonald’s.  After graduation she worked at Jennie-O-Turkey Plant where she met her soon to be husband Robert Meillier in 1978 and they were married on July 25, 1979.  After her two children were born, she stopped working to stay at home to take care of them.  When they were older Sharon started working at KCQ, cleaning and delivering newspapers and shoppers and worked their until later in March of 2020.  Sharon also enjoyed collecting nick knacks, jewelry, DVD’s, playing skip-bo and euchre with family and friends and listening to country music.

She is survived by her husband Robert Meillier, daughter, Bobbie Jo Meillier, son Scott Meillier, siblings, Sylvester (Linda) Thomas, Lee (Linda) Thomas, Irene (Rodney) Little, Mary Ann Thomas, Joan (Dale) Brooks, Robert Thomas and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Darlene, Annie and Sandy.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.
